Davina Leanda Hurst
Services for Davina Leanda Hurst, 30, will be held at 3 p.m. on July 6, 2010 at First Pentecostal in Buford, Ga. Ms. Hurst passed away on Monday, June 28, 2010 in Gainesville, Ga. She was a 30 year survivor of Acardi Syndrome. She achieved many landmarks, such as, her induction into the Guinness Medical World Journal of Medicine and her position as poster child for the March of Dimes in Thomas County Tri State area for 2 years. The laws in the Thomas County School System for special needs children in the State of Georgia where changed on behalf of Davina so that every child could have a fair chance at education. Survivors include mother, Donda Hurst; brother, David Hurst II (DJ); sister, Davonda Hurst; nieces and nephews, Gavin Hurst, Dayton Hurst, Karma Hurst, Jocylin M. Hurst, Jaylen M. Hurst; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death on July 6, 1973 by her grandmother, Robbey Neil Whidden. The family will be accepting regards at dondahurst@yahoo.com.
